Who is Rubén Blades?
Rubén Blades Bellido de Luna (b. July 16, 1948 in Panama) is a Panamanian singer, songwriter, actor, lawyer, and politician. He is considered the poet of salsa for his deep and socially conscious lyrics. He has 11 Grammy Awards. He studied law at Harvard. He served as Panama's Minister of Tourism (2004-2009) and was a presidential candidate. He also acted in films such as Once Upon a Time in Mexico and Spy Kids.
